Galway County Fleadh 2025

Traditional musicians of all ages will converge in Gort from the 16 - 18 May for Fleadh Cheoil na Gaillimhe 2025, hosted by Gaillimh Theas Comhaltas. It is the first time Gaillimh Theas CCÉ have hosted a County Fleadh and they very much look forward to welcoming everyone to Gort.

The Official Opening Ceremony will take place on the Friday at 8pm in the reading room of the Lady Gregory Hotel and all are most welcome. This will be followed by music sessions in Harte’s and O’Donnell’s Pubs.

Saturday will see the start to the weekend of competitions, which will be held in Gort Community School and Community Centre. Record numbers of young musicians will participate over the two days with the hopes of securing a qualifying position to the regional fleadh – Connacht Fleadh 2025 to be held in Ballinasloe in July.

Saturday night will see music sessions starting from 5pm in O’Donnell’s, Harte’s and Hennelly's bars, with all musicians most welcome to join in. Sunday will see competitors take part in the Under 18 and Over 18 ages groups, as well as dancing.

Throughout both days a large entry is expected for Grupaí Cheoil and Ceilí Band competitions. 18 Branches from all over County Galway will have participants in the competitions and this will in turn bring a large number of visitors to the Gort region for the weekend.

The competitions are open to the public to attend and all are encouraged to hear and see the talented performers.

Music Sessions in O’Donnells Pub at 4pm and a Youth Session in Hennellys Bar at 5pm will bring the weekend to a close on Sunday the 18th of May. Young musicians from all Comhaltas branches are warmly invited to join Gaillimh Theas CCÉ at Hennellys Bar for a delightful wrap up of the fleadh
